The Blackpool-based construction materials supplier has snapped up £11m turnover J Fisher & Sons, a major player in heavy haulage, road planing and asphalt reprocessing across the north west.
The move strengthens Fox Group’s circular construction credentials, with Fishers processing more than 200,000 tonnes of recycled asphalt planings (RAP) annually.
It also comes just ahead of the group’s new £4m asphalt plant in Leyland opening next month, with RAP set to feed directly into production.
Fox CEO Paul Fox said the deal would push the firm’s use of recycled materials to around 2 million tonnes a year.
“This is an extremely exciting time for the company and this acquisition will further broaden our circular offering to customers,” he said.
“Fishers has a strong management team, and we welcome them and their colleagues as we continue with our expansion plans.”
Fishers director Colin Fisher said: “Joining the Fox Group will enable us to work with their expansive network and resources, providing significant opportunity to grow and meet the increasing demand for RAP.”
